Flowers

Good Morning Everyone. Happy Friday! So tomorrow I am meeting with the florist to pick out the flowers for the wedding. Any ladies that have already done this or even just have a suggestion and want to pass it on, I am all ears...

The flowers will be yellow and white to coordinate with the girls midnight blue dresses and Brandon's uniform. So far I have thought about peonies, garden roses, orchids, lilies... basically I love them all! I will post an update next week to let you know what we decide on.                                 

Wedding Colors

So though one of the fun parts of the wedding, choosing colors was not as simple as it seemed to be, before I actually had to do it myself. But I have come to a conclusion and am really excited that the pieces are all coming together. Our colors are midnight blue (navy) and sunflower yellow.

The navy was chosen because Brandon will be wearing his uniform on our wedding day and so the groomsmen will be wearing navy to compliment him. And for the accent color, well, yellow is just a fun and really cheery sort of color. So I thought it would be the perfect mix, a little bit of classic, a little bit of fun.

I love the inspiration board above. It is just a taste of some of the color schemes I want to use. Also, please feel free to send me pictures of any ideas you may have for anything. Brandon Promotes Today

Good Morning Everyone. Hope all is well on this dreary Monday morning. On such a gloomy weather day, it is always good to share some cheerful news. Today at 4PM (WA time) , 7PM our time, my fiance will be promoted to 1st LT.

What is a first lieutenant?
Thought I would share, since I asked the same question not to long ago. A 1st Lieutenant is a seasoned lieutenant with 18 to 24 months service. He leads more specialized weapons platoons and indirect fire computation centers. As a senior Lieutenant, they are often selected to be the Executive Officer of a company-sized unit (110 to 140 personnel).

I am so proud of him and wanted to share his good news with you guys. If you get a chance today, send a quick "Congrats" his way!

When and Where ?

Exciting news. Brandon and I have officially set a date for our wedding. We are getting married on September 17, 2011. I have always wanted to have a fall wedding and could not be happier that the timing worked out so that I could.

Where
More exciting news... we have picked the place. We are getting married at the Clebourne House in Fort Mill, SC. The house dates back to the 1800's and has recently been restored. There is a picture and a link below in case you guys want to check it out:

The Title

So This Is Love

So I was inspired by my good friend, April Wynn, who is also getting married this year to blog about wedding planning. This is going to be fun. So why name my blog "So This is Love"? The title comes from the Disney film Cinderella. It's the song when Cinderella goes to the ball and gets to dance with her prince for the first time.

Brandon is crazy about Disney, as am I. When we were riding around in the car on my visit to Seattle, there was A LOT of Disney on the IPOD. "So This is Love" got stuck in my head and after that I couldn't think of anything else to name my blog. Plus, B is my prince charming, so it all works out. Stay tuned... more wedding news to come.
